Dumelang*, from the pristine Kingdom of Lesotho!
*For centuries the melodious dumelang (/doo-meh-lang/) has been reverberating through the valleys of the Lesotho highlands as the traditional Basotho greeting meaning ‘a warm hello’.
Our Products
The Basotho people come from a long line of herbal healers who always knew the superfood secrets of rosehip. This unsung superfood hero is available in four essential products with healing properties well-cited in international science journals. Our wild-harvested rosehip products are of superior quality due to high-altitude cultivation and Lesotho’s unique climate. We are directly linked to the harvesting communities with active and authentic community-building, guided by sustainable Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance principles (currently certification will be completed by mid-2025).

Lesotho Magic

The highlands of the Kingdom of Lesotho are nothing short of magical. Our organic rosehip is grown at 2200+ meters above sea level, yielding rosehip berries that are denser, richer and more nutrient-packed. The vitamin C levels are 30% higher than of lowland-grown rosehips, with stronger antioxidant properties. Nourished by crystal-clear pure mountain waters, our rosehips are untarnished by chemicals or industrial effluents. Every rosehip is infused with Lesotho goodness.
Community
A cornerstone of Organic Rosehip International is our relationship with harvesting communities throughout the Lesotho Highlands. Our fair compensation model, training and empowerment programs guarantee sustainable quality harvesting. In addition, quality assurance is achieved through local culture preservation, re-investment, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance and organic best practice frameworks. Meet some of our harvesters:
